I have been lurking for a while and posting a little so I figured I should introduce myself. I am currently a trainee here in Florida. I just passed the tests reqired to be certified. (by the way anyone know how long it takes the state to get the license number to you?)I have been in the business about 4 years.

I have tried my hand at investing and got into a little bit of trouble with BAD contractors (there are no good ones in my opinion). I have some construction backround as well so I know alot of them like to drink as well as partake in other things. (Sorry if there are any here I am sure they do not fall in this category.) I wanted to stay in the field, increase my knowledge, and I have always been good with math and statistis so appraising seemed like a no brainer.

I want to extend an offer of help to any of you who are involved with the current changes that are taking place within the profession. I would like to see changes,(for the better, not just for change sake). If I can be of any assistance pm me or call 407-346-8423.

Howdy Jeremy,

As you can see by my join date I too am new here. Since you have been lurking for a while, you already know that there is a wealth of information available on this site. One thing that I have found is that 'searching' can often give an answer without the need for starting a new thread. This is especially good if your training was not up to standard and you do not want to appear the fool. (I admit there were some things I had been doing according to my training that just didn't meet professional standards, but I have corrected without anyone here knowing about them.)

Welcome aboard.

Hello Jeremy,
This is a second (third?) career for me as well. Sounds like you have good knowledge base from your old job.

Not sure about Florida but I upgraded at the end of 2007 (in that very busy time when everyone upgraded) and it took about 4-6 weeks to complete the process. I know it seems like forever but it's not that bad.

There's a lot to learn here, welcome to the forum:beer:. Margaret
