Hi I am new to Appraisals and after a long time of time to get this page to allow my cookies and ad-blocks I am here.
I took the Texas test with psi a few time and have failed 68 and it got worse everytime. I got some review questions I was hoping to post and get some insight. I've read Texas tax code, and own a couple of other books as well.

I am hoping to ace it next time and become an appraiser trainee soon. Thank you

Hola Kenny

Welcome to the Forum! :coolsmiley:

Post away, ask questions. There are many knowledgeable appraisers on here

Don't get discouraged about not passing. This isn't the easiest profession to get into and the tests are proof of that
Best of luck to you!

Welcome, Kenny!

Have you tried to figure out if you are missing some areas of knowledge that would cause you to fail or if you have some difficulty taking tests? It is interesting that you did best the first time. (And most test takers fail by just a few points, I hear.) They do vary the questions in each instance of the same test, but I wonder how your best score was your first.

Of course, you want to be solid on the material but you may benefit from looking into test-taking strategy. Have you run out of time (did you finish all the questions, was it in time to review before the clock ran out?) Even when I feel very confident about the material, I do this, which can help if you are nervous going in: I read the question and if the answer is not immediately clear to me or if I have trouble with parsing what they are actually asking, I move right on to the next question. Go right through them all like this, answering the ones you know you know. Then go back and spend more time with each one you skipped.

When you read a question, think of the impact on people and clients. If one answer seems to do less harm to the public than the others, that the right answer. It's not all map and USPAP. Read USPAP a couple of time - it's only about 100 pages.
