I wish that was really true but our Governor spent over $2 billion to homeless NGO's and skid row as of this week had 10% to 15% more living in tents. First the money was mostly stolen and secondly well over 80% in tents are drug addicts or drunk and are not able to hold even menial jobs or live under any rules. It's not Capitalism or Marxism or Communism it's mostly the drugs and booze which destroys both their body and brain then we label them as suffering from mental disease.
Of course there are legitimate homeless but the sober ones are hard to find. They mostly live in their cars and Van's.
It was found here that the big problem was losing a job then couldn't make rent. By the time they had a new job they were living in their cars. And it took months to get enough cash to make the deposit on the apartment, the electric and the gas and water.... But living in your car meant going to a motel occasionally to clean up, and thus living expenses were higher than if they had a place to live.
