I've been taking advocare products since October. I've lost 31 pounds so far. I could tell you what all I'm taking if you want. Still got a ways to go though. Hope this helps.
Three or so years ago, we did the Adkins thing, and it worked really well - I dropped about 40 pounds. In the past year, about 10 of those have crept back - my sweet tooth is an unassuaged demon. I'm no groupie of any diet guru, but at least a read of Adkins (or any one of the many low carb/low sugar books extant)could be helpful in understanding how we process food. One of the villains, for instance, is caffeine which messes up metablism.
I've found that ramping up physical activity is a key part of losing weight and maintaining weight loss: it's difficult for me to incorporate excercise into my daily routine, and I quit lying to myself that huffing around a house is an adequate dose of daily exertion.
I quit smoking years ago - that was very easy compared to trying to change the habits that put the pounds on one chocalate covered malt ball at a time.
Anyway, to all of you nascent Goodbodies, good luck!
Make sure you that you exercise. I had this personal trainer tell me to get on the treadmill, and put in on 4.0 incline at a speed of at least 3.0 for 30 minutes. It's worked with me. I'm taking this product call Catalyst which is a fat burner, and although I may lose a pound here or there, and losing inches like crazy. I think people care more about the inches than weight. I know weight was a mental thing for me. I got my mother on Catalyst, and doing the same workout and she lost 5 inches on her waist in a month. But, then again just being honest she had 5 inches to lose. I have lost 4 inches but, it's taking me longer because they were harder inches to lose I guess. As far as, weight loss products I say go with what is working. Good luck to everyone.
The problem with drinking fruit juice straight, is that the sugar concentration is very high. I know, it's natural sugar and not refined. But a glass of orange juice has about 10 oranges worth of orange in it. Also, some people have a negative reaction to OJ due to its acid content.
I have one good cup of coffee in the morning, and then drink about 8 to 12 glasses of water thru-out the rest of the day. Once you get used to the taste of water, it is quite ok.
Fruit juice is healthy for you, as long as it's in moderation.
I started taking Hoodia about 3 weeks ago....it really does make me lose interest in eating... I need to make myself eat 4 or 5 small meals throughout the day.
I have been trying to get in the gym at least 3 times a week. I have almost cut all soda out of my diet (even diet soda).
One or two cups of coffee in the AM and then water all day ....
I have really cut down my portion size.
I am down 15 lbs since the 14th of January but I still have MUCH more to go.
