Does anyone know if the requirement for appraisers to carry a bond equal to 1% of the total appraised value of the properties the appraiser appraised the prior year is still in the bill? if so I think alot of appraisers will be out of business given that those bonds might have a pretty high price tag.

It's not in there. It never got out of the Senate and never had a chance.

I spoke with a couple tonight who knows their stuff. I was told by the woman, who was a closing co-ordinator, that traveling closing co-ordinators carry a $50,000 bond as a notary here in Florida. I asked how much a $50,000 bond cost. She said she wasn't sure because there is a $150 renewel fee every two years and the bond comes out of that. She was very insistent that the bond was very inexpensive and told me I had the price of a bond for insurance purposes confused with a criminal released on bond, which is 10% of the total bond having to be paid up front.
