How long will the Trump Trade go?

Ending the year, stock market lower than when Trump won election. Market hates uncertainty and unstable unpredictable leaders.
Usually there's a Santa Claus rally by end of year. Let's hope next year will be better than this year.

If you'll notice, Fern, the markets have been declining roughly since the Fed opened it's mouth on 12/18. I know you'd like to blame DT for the downturn, but I'm afraid your boy Uncle Joe is still at the helm RN (or at least whomever is handling him is at the helm).

I'm glad you finally admit it. FED affects the economy more than Biden.

I admitted no such thing. You were talking about the market(s). The economy and the markets are not synonymous, although they are related... The FED DOES have more influence over the markets than does the prez. The prez doesn't actually 'control' much of anything, but has great influence due to his/her ability to select judges, appointments, etc. And in DT's case, he also has tremendous support from constituents to the point that members of Congress feel compelled to align with his agenda so as not to lose election the next term.

You'll also remember from your civics class that the Prez chooses the Chairman of the fed from the sitting governors...

Yes, Trump chose Powell.
Biden did put emphasis on infrastructure spending.
With Puerto Rico having continual blackout problems, we should appreciate Biden's long term planning.
With remote work, I hope employers realize that hiring foreigners in countries with poor infrastructure may not be most cost effective hiring.

Well, at least uncertain and unstable Biden is going to be in the mirror.

So, you and Krugman predict bad things for Trump, just like in 2016 when he increased growth by a wide margin until Covid collapsed the economy. Not his fault - clearly 100% the fault of China's Wuhan lab no matter how much Dems try to say it isn't.

He failed with Covid. With uncertainty of bird flu becoming a serious threat, Trump may fail again with his past history.

The equities market is going down like it does every time this year due to profit-taking and structuring for taxes. No biggie.

With uncertainty of bird flu becoming a serious threat
Operative word being "uncertainty". No human to human transmission yet so do you vaccinate everybody in case they come in contact with an infected bird or cattle
