News to me, I've never cut a check for that, hope I'm not in violation. Just inspected 5 FHAs in the last week, the lowered requirements are making an impact in my area.
My partner is on the FHA roster and we have never had to pay a fee for that. Just the initial course and exam. After that you just submit your license to the FHA people every time you renew.
Is there any chance you are thinking of the national AQB registry? The term 'compliant' is applied to that and there is a fee that most states include with their board fees.
FHA will not put you on their roster unless you are 'compliant' with the national AQB registry.
States that have subordinate licenses will show 'not compliant' for anything less than certified.
