How to get through this slow period.

Slow months happen! To branch out, reach out to local banks or credit unions about joining their appraisal panels, even as a licensed appraiser. Network with agents and smaller brokers for referrals, and keep building those relationships. If you can, consider getting certified down the line — it opens more doors. Consistency pays off.

Thanks for all the replies. I haven't heard back from the bank but I've managed to pick up a few land appraisals. In my area a lot of home owners who own big tracts of land between 100 and 200 acres are starting to break that up and selling it to kids or others. I'm also looking into getting VA work if I can. I know finding a mentor for CR can be hard but I think I can get the letter of recommandation. That's what my supervisor said was the strength of the VA consistent work.

It's fkn great 2 week turns if needed full fess no BS underwriting stips it took me 5 years to get on though

I'm getting overwhelmed in HVNY...I actually want it to stop coming in for at least a day or so..so I can catch my breath. As with any other business you need to do a good job, and promote yourself and it takes time to build up clientele. I decline 99% of the Reggora work that comes in...with exception of BNY who pay twice the normal fee for some reason..

See if taking the PAREA education can get you certified. Perhaps you do not need a mentor if you are licensed? Look up what is needed to go from licensed to certified.
