Might want to try to clear the capacitor....take the batteries out....place a paper clip (same one) on each terminal and it will drain the excess power in the capacitor....sometimes happens when batteries are low or malfunctioning....one I did that it was working like now. Take it to a batteries plus if you have one near you...they can be helpful too, they can test it to see if the capacitor is holding a small amount of power. Hope that helps!

I'm hoping to retire having owned only one caluclator. Still using my 1985 model and it works perfectly <knock wood>. I don't think I've changed the batteries more than 1/2 a dozen times 30 yrs. I do use the 12c app on the phone once in a while, but it's not quite the same

A HP 10B costs much less and does all that I need on the financial side, and it is not reverse polish notation (as described be CE instructors). For the big projects Financial calculators/aps on the desktop are then used.
The 10B is more straight forward and less complicated than the BAII plus designed for real estate agents.
