I am not doing the 3.6 FORM deal

In '73 I was using a slide rule in Physics and circuit analysis classes at Purdue; most others had the new-fangled TI and HP calculators (their parents were obviously paying their way; I was paying my own). I saved up for a couple of months and bought a TI-50 for $150. It was WONDERFUL!!!
I got TI-50 as a birthday or Christmas present from my parents when I was taking calculus in high school around 1978 or 79, but my parents, who were hard core math people (mom was a high school math teacher and dad was a physicist) insisted that I demonstrate my proficiency in doing calculations using a slide rule before they would allow me to use the calculator. Taught me the stupidty of using a slide rule when calculators were now available.

Interesting that when my children were growing up, instead of buying best calculators, I bought them the newest iphones so they would be up to tech with latest advances.

Personally, I don't love old school style desktop Windows apps and am biased as someone who runs a web based software business and prefers Mac and Linux. But SFREP is stable and UAD 3.6 ready and not much different than what appraisers are used to with Total and previous version of Appraise-It Pro (and existing version of ClickFORMS). I appreciate that SFREP and Bradford are small independent companies and not "the man" like Alamode/Cotality and ACI. The solution I think will be most compelling is Nighthawk which is a different approach than "form filling", but that is tbd.

I'll have to take your word on all of that (except to add that the Bradford video narrator dude should seriously get help for his crack/meth addiction - either that or they should try getting a calmer narrator:rof:). Once I retire, none of this tech mumbo-BS-jumbo will even remotely cross my mind as I am writing my next book ... :giggle:

Teacher wouldn't let me use my slide rule in class in high school. Said it gave me an advantage over the rest of the students. I just used it as a time saver since you had to understand the calculations before you could use the slide rule

Yikes. Our daughter does not get a phone until she's 15, and it's going to be locked down. There's a ton of research out how bad it is, especially for girls. Some countries have even outlawed social media for kids under that age. They can figure out the tech later, let their brains develop first with language, instruments, sports, talking with real people.

Children born before 2000 were not addicted to the iphone as much.
They read more and also know how to use technology to their benefit.
The ones born after 2000 are so into social media and easily influenced.
My brother kept his children from using iphones (used a flip phone) and not watch television. Advantages and disadvantages like not UpToDate with matters with their friends.
One of his child came out "normal" l think and the other not. Maybe other circumstances for their outcomes.

i think it was george who used to tell me that independent means not controlled by others... :rof:

I am so glad I didn’t raise my kids with all the crap we have now. I would NEVER let our kids have SMART PHONES in this environment. We had a computer, but that was before all the crap of today. We had dial up service most of the time. But they are finding just how horrible social media is today. It ruins kids. Even playing games on the screen is unhealthy. Makes kids into social zombies. I remember seeing a kid eat out with her parents, and all she did was sit and text. Didn’t interact with her parents at all. No Way!!

no one is paying enough for a floor plan...
