I Hate Windows 11 - Part 430

Yeah, payment situation in "developed" Germany was especially bad. They still use cash everywhere which is annoying. France was better about it.

Not sure about hotel rooms as my wife and I pre-kid generally house sat around Europe. We did get bedbugs in between staying in an Airbnb so no longer do those.

How do you shop at Walmart they only use insertion or cash it's enraging

You don't necessarily have to pay high ATM fees in Europe. But, you need to know which ATMs to avoid, which Credit Cards reimburse ATM fees and so on.

Here is a rundown:

BTW, Walmart left Germany in 2006.

Avoid: Euronet Worldwide, CardPoint, Travelex, Bankomat
Avoid: Freestanding ATMs that are not in major banks such as: Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, Sparkasse, or Postbank
Fee-Free Debit Cards. Charles Schwab, SoFi, Fidelity, and Capital One 360 offer no foreign fees and reimburse ATM fees.

Withdraw fewer large amounts rather than many small amounts.

Yeah, Schwab investor checking is fantastic.

No need to use ChatGPT.
Schwab debit card is best international use for ATM since no ATM charges.
I found Chase credit card gives better exchange conversion euro rate than Bank of America card on purchases.

I have to give kudos to Charles Schwab security against scammers.
It's the most secure and protective than any I'd encountered.
