I have to switch to iPhone

Maybe this will help some of you maybe every one of you already know this and I’m just dumb lol. The talk to text feature on iPhones are the worst. I tried using Gboard which works magnificently well on Samsung‘s but it still was awful. I was using Google but still it was awful. I just figured out today that even though Google was my default app it was still routing through Safari. I installed chrome and turned that Safari routing BS off and now it works perfectly. Not one single error in this whole post using talk to text. this phone is still complete dogshii but it’s a little better now oh my God, I just figured out you can move the cursor just like my old Samsung by touching exactly where you want it to go now.
Siri is terrible as is Safari (and most of the Apple apps - I have a folder called "iCrap" where I put them all). But the Apple chip and operating system software quality / reliability (as much as I hate to say it) smoke any Android by a lot. If you do a lot of voice dictation, there's a number of 3rd party apps for this: https://wisprflow.AI

Linux appears to be the future as companies are now fleeing the really bad security issues of MS platform under 11. Apparently, Bill Gates raged at the CEO and others over the issue of 11 being Buggier than a roach hotel.

Thank God my azzphone days are over can't wait to go back to Samsung. A 25 minute glitch in Carplay while inspecting Saturday was the final straw. Real AI, legit astropics and Android Auto that doesn't hard glitch every 10 days will be a welcome change

I just picked up an S24 as well…my S22 started boot looping due to updates. While I’m waiting for my upgraded S 24, I’m using my son‘s old iPhone 12 mini. Never used an iPhone before. Actually, it’s pretty cool! I see the draw to iPhone.

The camera on your newly purchased ultra is epic. My wife has always had Notes and now the S25 Ultra. Phenomenal photos from a cell phone. I just can’t get by the pricing on Apple though.

boy do i miss phone booths...

I will never substitute a phone for a real camera personally.
Catch up, phones now have real cameras and have for 10 years already. The iPhone one smokes all the other Androids as well because Apple is the best when it comes to fully integrated hardware plus software. They simply take better point and click photos. Wife has a fancy real camera with the lenses and stuff and never bothers with it. Jobs was right - paper specs don't matter. It's how the hardware and software work together that matters, and Apple controls that end-to-end with better results. Ditto with their processors - they smoke everything else due to optimized software.

why do you feel iPhone cameras are so much better than Samsung? I’d love the upper right hand button. You can assign to automatically open the camera on Samsung‘s. It’s perfect when I take it out of my pocket my fingers right there. I just double click on it as I’m raising the camera versus having to hit the top button and bottom button on my iPhone. Slightly more annoying but not that big of a deal. I don’t know if you arebinto astrophotography, but the Samsung takes amazing pics in that regard as well.

iPhone picture management is leagues better though

It's the camera + software combo. All the Androids I owned had a half-baked software component. Pixel was the closest I got to a great Android photo experience (and for the same reason iPhones and Surfacebooks are great - Google controls the hardware and software on Pixels). Also, Pixel is the only Android without the bloatware and screwed-with Android OS. All the other Android builders always mess up the OS for no good reason at all. Same with how Surfacebok is the best Windows laptop - Microsoft controls the entire experience and there's no 3rd party bloatware.

In an ideal world I'd have Android and Linux desktop (which I play with from time to time) based on principle alone. All of my software products already run on Linux servers and open source software.
