I had one for 40 years.......the newest required a $500 deposit.

That's alot of coin, wonder who is sitting on that interest.

I didn't realize this was a public posting area. My bad!!

No sweat. Didn't want you taking something the wrong way (that never happens here...:new_smile-l: )

I'm with Mike Boyd on this one. Course I rarely do new purchase type appraisals...but their commission is a heck of a lot bigger than my appraisal fee. I figure there are at least three people who can get me access (owner, seller agent & buyer agent not to mention the agents' assistant/team member).

I know they are busy & very important people, so am I (when I want to be:rof: ).

You can buy supra keys cheap on ebay. However, make sure your local Board Of Realtors will key it for you. The Knoxville Board will only key the ones ordered from their Board.

Our board allows small RE offices to have one key among them with the broker in control and 100% liable. Anything over 3 - 4 agents would be too much but really how many houses can you show in one day? If a 2 person office, usually one is at the office, one showing or listing property.

I don't own a key and I have had need of a key once in the past 6 months. The Realtor can open it up for me...I prefer someone to be there anyway.
