FYI, you can run W10 for free unactivated to see if it works. It's an ISO, so you'd have to write it to a bootable USB.

If I were you and using the same hardware, I'd just pull my W7 hard drive (or unplug it) and install a new one to run W10. Test it out, if you like it, keep it and stash the W7 drive for backup/emergencies.
