IDYLLWILD: Manufactured Homes

Idyllwild is that sweet arts and crafts spot. Pretty area. Feels like a flashback to the Hippies communes of the '70s. Everybody gotta be SOMEWHERE!

But Anza... Did one there in 'Indian Country', roads were abominable, FHA appraisal on mfg house and the idiots had the well, electric, water, gas...EVERYTHING turned off... also had a "barn" which appeared to have been a manufacturing site. So when they asked me to go back to do the 1004D (due to utilities off), I told them I was out of state for days, or weeks, or for however long it would be necessary before giving somebody else that 1004D assignment.
The interesting thing out there is all the rusted metal animal sculptures, some like 6 or 8 horses running from bluff to bluff across the road, or your generic dinosaurs etc. It is quite a unique skill these fellas have with those sculptures.

I appraised a 600ac ranch up in Anza there a couple years back, multiple homes, equestrian stuff, extra hillside parcels, etc. A number of vacant land and SFR properties on acreage. One of the fast food cafes and a small multi-tenant commercial building. The weather at the 4000+ft elevation is really pleasant. They've got lots of water, too. It's just a nuisance to access services. I never did a lot in Idyllwild bit I did appraise a liquor store there a couple years back.

I did one south of Hemet a couple years ago. Main house on the hill, plus bunkhouse and a mfg house that appeared to have had occupants shackled inside the rooms with no access to bathrooms!!!!! I had noticed spent shell casings around the outside of the main house, which was a real head-scratcher.

Turns out, the husband died, wife rented the land out to a farmer.... Yeah, right! Turned out it was Mexican Drug Cartel, and there were shootouts there. Took her more than a year going to court and such to have them removed. Then shortly thereafter, she's coming home on the freeway and is killed in an accident. The End. I did the appraisal for the foreclosing lender.

That's some bad juju.
