I didn't catch it right away either. But, everyone knows that non-designated Irish appraisers like Mr. Kennedy are drunks, they can't help it.

What you said.

OK, can we get back to the topic guys, I'm trying to learn something, I do not care about drunk Irish, unless they are with me and paying. Also, I will start using the word "Alot" alot.

I have an ax to grind. Its my ax and I will grind it as I please. Take your ax and grind it on your own, or explain a little more why your ax is so special and why I should bother looking at it or otherwise expect me to feign being able to see your little ax in a gun fight anyway. Don Quixote was a noble figure, he still tilted at windmills, riding an ***.

So that helped or hindered? With respect to the big 161.

Joining any association doesn't mean you have superior ethics. A designation doesn't make a better or more ethical appraiser. It does make a more educated appraiser. The AI does offer some of the best education. They don't seem to be doing much to take care of the problems in the profession, especially for the residential appraisers, IMO. Their approach to solving all the problems is 'hire a designated appraiser'.

Did she ever voice an opinion on the AI? If so, I'd like to know. Maybe she'll return and enlighten us. I wonder if she's capable of fighting a 2 front war....the AI to the front and the Nepots on her flank. :-)

Boy could I be in trouble:Eyecrazy:

Here I am, a nepot, defending the AI (though I'm not a member and have no intention of becoming one).

Boy am I putting myself in harms way. Hopefully she isn't reading this.:glare:

Edit to add - I don't typically find myself defending the AI. Frankly there is plenty to complain about with them, and they certainly don't need me to argue on their behalf. Funny how some folks can make their points in such a manner as to have the opposite effect of their apparent intentions.

Mr. Harris,

What a sad bunch of "appraisers?"

Is that the best you can do when it is proven that you cannot correctly interpret Title XI? Do you often pretend to have basis for your argument and hope nobody checks the source? If being a member of the "sad bunch of appraisers" means having the facts, so be it; I proud to be part of that group.
Other than TC and Serenna's poor commercial work,

I assume that you've reviewed their work...oh wait...facts don't matter...only speculation.

Let's do some math. Other than TC and Serenna's poor commercial work, how much commercial real estate appraisal, bank S&L, work do you think was conducted by MAI appraisers, prior the big 161? Please express as a percentage then multiply that figure by $161,000,000,000.00.

How should I know how much work was done by MAI's? You apparently don't know either, since you haven't presented any facts and are simply speculating in order to support your preconceived notions.

Regardless, if you think (and I mean think) the 1980's were bad, you should see the utter crap that is being produced today, both on the residential and commercial end, by nondesignated appraisers. Because of my review work, I have piles of this garbage in my file cabinets.

You should know!!! If that is the best you can do I'm out. Happy Patties Day. Have a kegger or two on me, then try to find some work.

Why should I be looking for work? Being three weeks behind is enough for me.

I assume that you are also busy, being that you don't have time to look up the facts.
