This is a great technology and could become really useful for indoor measurements after developers start incorporating the feature into applications. Time will tell if it's close to the accuracy of laser measurement devices. If it is, that's one less device you would need to carry. At realquantum, we have customers that use the laser measurer Ryobi Phone Works, for example.

i recall reading an article about this in the beta phase and the end result was that it was pretty close but off by 1"-9" when measuring distances up to 10'. neat technology but not quite developed to the level we need.

I look forward to trying it out, reviews have been very good from users (not necessarily appraisers).

I haven't downloaded IOS12 yet though because I prefer that they get the kinks out first.
