I was at the cell phone store recently and after speaking with the sales clerk a bit I checked out the Iphone and was wondering what if any experiences any of may have had with it.

A big question I had after looking at it is can I install and use wintotal on the phone?

Has anyone tried this?:icon_question:

From what I understand the Iphone is a closed system. You can't install anything without hacking it to unlock it.

I have one, it is a closed system. You are kind of buying the phone and Apples goodies. There are a few 3rd party providers out there but its very limited. I will say its the best phone that I have owned. It is different from a pda type of phone though.

smokehouse, how do you like the internet browser?
I have the new blackberry curve, but generally, it takes you to the mobile version of most web pages, which sucks. I understand that the Iphone is not detected as a mobile browser.
Are websites generally easy to view?

The browser is just like being on the PC, it opens up whatever website you enter. I have never been taken to a mobile version of a web page. Websites are generally easy to view, you can turn the phone sideways and zoom in and out very easily (and smoothly).

Wow, the Iphone is the bomb. Took my blackberry in an swapped it for the Iphone. Much superior product for email and for browsing the internet. As smokehouse said, it doesnt pull up the mobile version of the websites, its the actual full website. With the zoom feature, and the ability to turn the phone sideways and automatically view the site in landscape, its easy to view any website.
