Is Appraiser Depot Still In Business?

I don't have a dog in this fight, and don't own a Disto.

But if I've never heard a definition of a 'skippy', this 'company' would be it.

If any of us operated in the way that has been described here by multiple posters, in terms of non-communiction and non-performance, we'd be out of business rapidly.

What's been described by many is not 'normal', at least in the context of doing professional business with others. Situations exist with AD and LM, and only one person knows what they are.

If anyone would like to search back at least a few years they will find many posts where Matt & I argued with each other. Matt was extremely critical of brick and mortor type stores and was upset that I had recommended that sort of vendor as compared to an online vendor working out of a PO Box.

Disto type devices were initially designed for the surveying industry and many specialized stores that cater to surveyors will have all sorts of laser measuring devices in stock. If you are near a major city then there's probably such a store. You can get local service and have the ability to try out various models. Those sorts of vendors have typically been in business for much longer than Matt's business.

Heck, even the low end laser devices are now making it into the big box stores. The lower end devices are more than adequate and might be the cause of Matt's difficulties.

There was some mention of health problems awhile back. I sure hope that Matt is not having any such difficulties, and if so, I'll pray for him.

But otherwise, he does need to at least refund the money that he has from customers on undeliverable orders and also shut down his website so that he doesn't continue to accept money for orders that he cannot fulfill.

See prior post about an appraiser in my office who is haggling with Matt ...

Ok 2 months later, 3 promises of a refund two of which Matt promised the check was in the mail and still no check !

What is up Matt?

Disto

Ed - I don't know if you ever bought your new Disto, but there is a choice. I've bought my last two Distos from Distagage at 877-423-4789. They are based in FL but their warehouse is open till 10 est to service you. Greg DeTray is the owner, was a part-time appraiser for me in the hey day of biz and continues to supply Distos to the appraisal and insurance industries. He is A Class Act!

Ed - I made a mistake with the phone number for Distagage - its (877) 423-4786 - sorry about that. You can also go to distagage.com, Maria

Hey Matt - You suck!

Does anyone have a phone number for Matt at appraiserdepot.com? I'm sure he doesnt have the b_lls to post it on here, but I thought I would check. I have been calling and emailing for 4 months with absolutely no response. I am currently contacting the post master general in hopes of filing a mail fraud case against this idiot. Hey Matt - Mail fraud refers to any scheme which attempts to unlawfully obtain money or valuables in which the postal system is used at any point in the commission of a criminal offense.
Guess who they are talking about?? YOU!!!

Add me to the growing list of those who can not get a response. I sent my malfunctioning Disto back to appraiserdepot.com for warranty service almost 2 months ago and can't get a reply to numerous status requests. Matt signed for the package so I know they received it. I just sent one final email requesting an update. If I don't get a response I will consider it stolen property and will act accordingly.

I too have left approximately 15 voicemails and at least 10 emails, all which have not been returned. I just found Matt's email on a thread, and have just emailed him directly. We'll see if that works.
