First full week of leaving the residential appraisal business in Wisconsin. I have passed on three ERC assigments, three AMC assigments that would have paid full fee, two divorce appraisals for real estate and personal property and one BK appraisal to a fellow appraiser.
I still think it is in the quality of work you do, your marketing and your location as to how much work you get.
It feels great to tell some of the AMC's when they call that my fee starts at $1400 for an RE 1004. There is just stone silence on the other end of the phone, then a bit of stammering that they can't pay those fees.woohoo
No brag, just fact, I am enjoying retirement on the back of a horse and it pays $150 a day net, plus room and board (7 days a week), insurance. No liability, no phone calls, no BS, no pressure. Just saddle and ride or drive.woohoo
