I took the class early on and was told and shown at that time that it was only required for F F work. Have they changed that? Thanks

To my knowledge, FHA has not adopted the ANSI requirement.

The other agencies, HUD/FHA, USDA, ONAP, VA have NOT (yet) adopted this ANSI measuring protocol. Mar 21, 2022
Furthermore, VA Rep' recently commented: VA will not adopt as ANSI, as is confusing. VA wants "market reactions" which is not ANSI, currently.

Most Likely, IF your client required ANSI: there would be specific SOW comments required to be in the report.

Seems to me it is easier just to do them all the same. Then you don't have to interrupt your workflow to wrestle with this decision!

No. They haven’t adopted it…YET. You can bet your license they will eventually. Get to be proficient at it now and use it, anyway. How many times have you been asked to redo the report because the loan was switched from FHA conventional? Now you will have to go back out there and remeasure the house to ANSI standards.

...And charge them an additional fee. Scope of work.

Did I say I wasn't proficient and didn't use it? No I did not. If they switch it that's a new assignment and I get paid to go back because I have to certify that I went back and inspected it and is has a new effective date. BTW, your answer has nothing to do with my question. You're a reviewer aren't you? :rof:

Some people don't read very well. I asked nothing about measuring a house. I asked about the ANSI statement. :mad2:

Wow! Little testy, are we?
I just assumed that since you bothered to ask if ANSI is required for FHA (which was your question and I did answer it) that you don't use it on every appraisal or else why would you even think to ask it.

Second, usually when lenders switch programs it is in a very short period of time. If this is the case, in nearly all of my experiences, the lender is fine with my keeping the original date of inspection/effective date of the appraisal (just change the signature date and report previous appraisal work). That way I do not need to go back out again.

Third, no I am not a reviewer. I answered your question to help out a fellow colleague. No good deed goes unpunished, I guess.
