Is there any other industry with more warranted disrespect of its notables than this one?

Any attorney organization I'd expect...

Attorneys make great $ despite any jokes about them.

Low-resource appraisers cannot afford to fight off the entities whose decisions over the past decade are killing any remaining independence or earning capacity left on the regulated lending side, which comprises the bulk of work for a res license appraiser. Every time appraisers thought it could not get any worse, it did. Other fields have been able to fend off threats, including the RE agents who are making the same big commissions as before the lawsuits that were supposed to help consumers.

Run, do not walk, run away from the res license end is my advice for any newcomers who have enough working years left to matter.

As I recall, the question was related to the integrity of the 'notables' in the profession - not the amount of money to be made. Of course attorneys make lots of $. And they do so by screwing the general public.

There is no integrity when we ask a simple question and can not get a direct answer...or when the designated appraisers who have a good grasp of the methodology use it to further the AMC interests, which are destroying the profession on the res lending side.

If the next generation of appraisers can not make enough $ to survive with a res license, it is not a license worth pursuing. Simple math.

No idea what you're ranting about now. But yes - for any profession where constituents cannot earn sufficient income to 'survive' (as you say), then that profession is not worth pursuing. Agreed - simple math.
