Is this insane, or just so smart you blink?

What the hell are we talking about? Oil is at $144 a barrel,
we're in a 'bear stock market', the only 'growth' sector for employment
is "government employment." I like a good ant parable as much as
the next person, but .....hey, its the 4th of July, we're free (except for
those wire taps and unreasonable searches without probable cause at
airports), we are a great country, great infrastructure, given the
opportunity, we can turn on a dime, and make any other country eat
our dust when it comes to return on investment.

The history of mass liquidations

War is the answer.

It is the only way to transfer wealth rapidly enough to keep those who have the guns fed with beans to keep squeezing the trigger of the gun. It takes food to fight and fighting to survive.

I recon a good old fashioned internal revolutionary war in this country would do it.

THink of war as a business enterprise. Its the biggest and most succussful business going and has been since the begining of time.

Take a look around at the behavior of the universe through our telescopes .... its cold and it is explosive .....

...don't let your silly flesh get in the way .... peace is just another way of saying your no longer part of the central theater of reality.

My main point remains: don't enable banks to hide bad debt if they are insolvent; it's better to face the music and get the houses into the hands of whomever will fix them/live in them/rent them, etc. Some resident is better than no resident or a criminal resident.
Though the mechanism may be flawed flawed, his main point is valid.

I do believe REO properties need to be back into the market ASAP. Banks should be required to maintain the properties. Banks would quickly dispose of properties if they were required to maintain them (or they would at least manage them better by renting them out.) I don't think forced disposal of their investments is appropriate. I would rather see an auction by the local sheriff (or similar government official) occur after filing a notice of "failure to maintain" be allowed. All proceeds, after subtracting administrative costs would go to the owner.
