Yep - that's a tough one. Pure libertarianism espouses free trade. However, that position also necessarily assumes that the country/state being entered is not a welfare state - which the US very much is.

Conservative libertarian. You can do whatever you like, as long as it doesn't affect another non involved being. But your freedom stops when you involve me, my money, or another human being in a bad way. Personally, the 10 commandments seem a good start covering good and bad behavior.

In classic libertarian thought, open borders are essential to efficient production. Open borders are what allow for efficient use of labor, as well as efficient use of the other resources required for production. Humid, jungle climates are more suited for banana production than are arid climates for example.
