July State Board Meeting

Not open for further replies.
The Board had a disscussion about specific reciprocity with indivdual States....

D. Rex Bryce and Dominick S. Pompeo are looking to have NYS mirror the agreements of each States agreement with NY...ie New Jersey only gives the reciprocity on a case by case basis, thus NY will do the same for NJ applicates..

The theroy is to stop having the NY appraisers work at a disadvantage....They are looking for Public Comment on this issue...

Other items include the AMC's charges on the HUD statements, and per enforcement they are now getting complaints about appraisals/appraisers from Assessment Departments.....

I wasn't paying attention and missed the initial webcast.

By any chance, did they mention which assessor's offices (I doubt they would)? I know there is a major problem with many of these reports...they're not just bad...they're really, really bad.

No Townships were identified...

I just finished listening to the entire web-cast, and I loved it, they board members appear to be typical chilled New Yorkers, I like that Dominick from NYC, couldn't pick up his last name, but he's funny, I gotta meet him....
Thanks Dominick for acknowledging and respecting the holiday (Yom Kippur on 10/10), the next meeting is scheduled for 10/17, I hope I'll be able to attend, attendance appears to be worthwhile....

Dominick Pompeo...

They discussed adding a requirement for mandating re-taking the USPAP 15 hour course when re-applying after revocation.

They set up a committee to draft a response to HVCC but did not seem to have much of a grasp of the specifics of HVCC or even the players involved in it.

They talked about trying to get AMC fees broken down on the RESPA and failed past efforts to do so.

I wish they would invest a few bucks in better equipment so the audio would be less garbled & you could see who's speaking, etc.

I wanted to tell them, that when your drivers license gets revoked, you have to retake the road test....

Also having to retake the exam is worse then a $5000 penalty for some....

Currently there is no difference between revocation and suspension, other then suspension the licence restores itself, and by revocation you have to reapply....

I believe the assessor's office is Nassau County. I heard that the garbage appraisals that they have seen prepared for tax appeals is remarkable and that they're turning them in.

Dominick? Oh he's a character all right. I met him at an AC conference a couple of years ago. Larger than life personality. As a Noo Yawka you would love to meet him.

As compared to the absolute crap Nassau County typically prepares for SCAR hearings? As bad as some of the homeowner appraisals are, the county appraisals are worse - maybe we should start turning them in...
