Laser Measure Question

This isn’t an answer to what you want but just a comment. My laser measure tool is the equivalent of a ‘75 Dodge Dart with bald tires and a misfiring cylinder entering a highway. However, I am keeping it until the new forms come out. We just don’t know what is to be expected of our sketches in 2 years to buy a new one that will be obsolete by then.

So it is an estimate
What we do is an estimate. Do I like that they came up with a product to get newbs that can fog a mirror into the industry. No.

It's bs. They cannot even measure a home. They cannot verify or how to know if it is right. They just assume it is correct. Atleast when I use it, I know if something is not right.
I must've missed that memo
You didn't. It's called pdc.

In 2021, CubiCasa’s GLA accuracy was reviewed by both GSEs and approved for use in their appraisal modernization programs.

I can't express how happy I am with the Bosch that has a GREEN dot--soo much easier to see. I still have my more expensive Disto as a backup.

Is scan to sketch available for Android?
Android doesn't have the lidar to do the scan.

Which model has a green dot, although in bright sunlight can you see any dot. The screen one is good in bright light.

If they’re pushing for things like lidar and apps to measure homes, are they doing away with the ANSI requirement?

Once we get done buying every program and gadget and paying for every service from the company stores, there will be just enough left to... Oh wait, there won't be much left.

I have the older model with the red dot, which works best either inside or in the shade/ cloudy days. I heard that the green dots work better outside, but the batteries die much quicker. Do you think that is the case?

FWIW, I don't mind using. Eventually all will be using it, so it will equal out...in other words the errors will be baked in and a none issue becuse everyone is using the same or similar software.

Cubicasa says ANSI-aligned floor plan? Wth does that mean?

Cubicasa:
Fannie Mae demands that appraisals requiring interior and exterior inspections on certain properties (residential properties) must comply with a specific measuring standard from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI, Z765-2021).

comply.....align.....

I complied when I didn't include anything under 5' at the sloped ceiling.

align....cubicasa aligned by including the area.

Most of the time they are within 100 sqft. Typically it's 50-75 sqft. In my opinion that's good enough for what we do.

I think the GSEs gave them a free pass...close enough....we got to get these pearea peeps in here and we got to get this modernization thingy started.

I don’t disagree, but if we’re switching to an app just for the sake of switching to an app, we all, including the GSEs and lenders, need to understand the square footage accuracy should not be a big concern anymore. Which is pretty much a 180 from what the real world real estate market is. GLA is everything in real estate. And you really can’t claim you want measurements to be down to the nearest 10th of a foot and then claim you’re OK with being 100 ft.² wrong.
