I am looking to purchase a Laser Measuring Device. What is a good one? One I can see in the sunlight. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sunlight is an issue with any laser. I've used a Disto D5 for years and have been very happy with it. DONT buy a cheap device from a home improvement store etc. You will probably get frustrated and throw it in a drawer.

I wonder if the A/F member who sells these things will chime in again. He pops in anytime somebody asks this question...

yea i bought a bosch and now its just my backup in my glove compartment. a disto with a zoom feature is what i use when its too bright to see the laser. think its the i7500 iirc

Personally, I recommend purchasing both a D810 and a S910.

Use the D810 on 90% of all homes and keep the S910 on a tripod in the trunk. You will know when you will need it when you pull into the driveway. Its awesome on those houses with crazy landscaping or steeply sloping lots. Its a bit of an investment, but well worth it.

I've been researching the Distos all week. Just worried about battery life. I might do 7-9 inspections in one day and some say it's only a 3-5 hour battery life.

7-9 per day? Are you an appraiser or a "runner"?

Appraiser. I'd rather do inspections all in one day and write a few days a week. I also have 2 appraisers that work for me. Appraisers are scarce in upstate NY. We lost two to cancer last week.
