Hi,

I just passed my exam this morning in the Edison Center and they gave me a piece of paper which I am supposed to mail out with a certified check or money order for the amount of $425. ($125 for Wall Cert., $275 for Biennial Cert & $25 for Federal Surcharge). I called the board to verify and the lady who answered said the amount was $750. And when I asked her about the breakdown of that price she said that was the new price and if I sent $425 my license would be held up. She refused to give me a breakdown of why the drastic difference and before I could ask any other questions she said good bye and hung up on me. Is there someone who I should speak in specific regarding the pricing, since I would love to get my license but not overpay as I doubt I would get a refund. In anycase I was wondering if anyone here recently got their Cert license and how much they paid or whom I should speak to get a clearer answer from the state.

Thanks :)

Anytime that I have a question for the board I ask for Charles Kirk (no relation) he is always helpful and a he provides correct information.

If you live in north Jersey you can visit the office in Newark and get your answer.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the State Real Estate Appraisal Board!

The renewals for 2009 just went out so that may have something to do with it. In other words it may include pro-rata for 12/31/07 and the full fee for 12/31/09.

Call Charlie Kirk at the board. Good luck

The renewal fee for 2 years is $600.00, that fee you were first told was a prorated fee., I would guess.

Thanks alot for the replies guys, I am pretty excited to bring my trainee career to an end and begin my certified career, even though it seems like we are going through a pretty rough drought at the moment. Will give Charles Kirk a call and see what happens :)
