Does anyone here use Virtual Assistants and also use Total software? I'm considering finding a VA for basic tasks like report creation, data entry, etc. and allowing them access to Total using a remote desktop login. However, I'm concerned about giving someone else complete access to all of my files. They just need to start a new report from any number of templates I've already created. From a security and risk mitigation standpoint, how can I limit their accessibility while also reducing emailing files back-and-forth?

I am not sure how to answer the full questions but I feel like hiring someone who is already a licensed trainee appraiser (in any state) would be a better starting point than just a total stranger with a resume. As a trainee appraiser, I do most of the administration/ data entry for my supervisor and would consider doing it for others as another source of income and a type of practice. I always like to see other appraisers work when possible.

go with spark. it does the heavy in a matter of minutes once you learn how to set it up. monthly subscription service. it fill's in a lot of minor info that you don't have to type in yourself anymore.

Another vote for Spark here. It blows Datamaster out of the water. Instead of using the 1004MC, Spark has its own proprietary market analysis tool which looks at your comparable data as well as the subject neighborhood's overall data. Gives you charts, graphs and commentary.

You can utilize this tool to download alternative neighborhood data so as to determine location adjustments plus, DwellingCost for the cost approach.

Using an assistant to type your reports is like using a horse pulled cart instead of a car in comparison.

Problem is appraisers will be pushed aside eventually as well.
