It will be a few years more before that can be answered since EV batteries have and expeted life of at least 10 years. But current recycling methods do not sound very environment friendly, smelting, chemical extraction.

Sounds familiar. The gov't also encouraged and even mandated asbestos use in public/gov't buildings, schools, ships, subs, etc. Now they mandate its removal at the cost of many Billions of $ to building owners, school systems, etc.

Doubtful that anyone in the gov't has thought even for a second about the future of EV batteries, just the 'today' and its warm and fuzzy feeling it gives to some of those morons.

Probably put them with the spent uranium in Yucca Mountain...someday.

If a pile of batteries has but one cell ignite....whoa. Huge fire and nothing can put it out
