I have been looking into options and surprised there aren't more readily available. You can do it with Excel, with or without paid instruction, or with help from programs such as Market Machine and one other one I saw but can't remember the name. What works for you that you would recommend?

The down and dirty add on is
If using 4 or variables and 10 -30 sales...I use this
The Cadillac for appraisers is
This one is more for building a large database over time

I've been wanting to do this for years already. But I have never found the right product. I am very tempted to dig into RStudio and see if I can put something together like this appraiser seems to be doing. But it seems like a big undertaking.

I can't figure out why none of the appraisal software providers haven't put together a simple program to help with line item adjustments. Everything always seems to be geared towards filling in the 1004MC or providing a final estimate of value. But I'm not aware of anything that just helps to support line item adjustments. That is what I want.

R is a great software, but expensive. I did most of my grad work with a product called MiniTab - and still use it extensively. It's inexpensive (at least older versions are), intuitive, and allows really easy copy and paste from Excel/CSV.

I suppose it depends on your needs. I think most appraisers would be able to use the free and open source version.

I would expect that is correct. It's been my experience, though, that unless you're accustomed to using open sourcecode software with 'add on' packages, it can be much more tedious than an off the shelf regression capable software. That's just me, though.

The version I have cost ~ $100 on Ebay and works perfectly.

I agree with you, I had a coaching session with A La Mode recently and was told they don't offer any adjustment support tools. They have Titan Analytics for the 1004MC, but not adjustment support. On line I saw a video about appraisers using regression analysis from 13 years ago and after all these years there still appears to be no well known commercial regression analysis products for appraisers. I am interested in what George Dell is offering, he is one of the gurus in this field, he offers training to use Excel and R, the free open source version I believe.

Yeah, I think I saw George Dell was doing something like that at one time. I need to see if he is still doing that and see what I can learn from him.
