I went to Our Lady of Good Counsel when it was still in Wheaton. I grew up in Rockville and would have been in the last class to graduate from Peary H.S. before it closed if I had been in public school.

Gotcha.

Here is something interesting from back in the day from Montgomery County when I first started as a trainee in appraising.....back before they Richard Montgomery H.S. was turned into a magnet school for the International Baccalaureate program, it was considered to be a pretty crappy school for the area, while Wooten High School was considered excellent....I remember appraising homes that were located on and near the street that at that time formed the boundary between the Wooten and Richard Montgomery school zones and the homes on the Wooten side of the street sold for about a 20 or 25% premium versus the homes on the Richard Montgomery side of the street, even though they were all built at the same time by the same builder.

It's like that even between two excellent schools. Doesn't have to be good school and bad school for there to be a difference in prices.

Bethesda is like that. Dividing line is Greentree Road. Whitman and Walter Johnson.

I grew up in HC
I take it that you are referring to Howard County.....which is a pretty nice place to be from. Montgomery County was a nice place when I was child, but by the time I became an adult, it became way too overcrowded, traffic is a total nightmare, and there are just too many pretentious jackasses who live in the DC area.......I don't miss that area even a little bit.

HC is nicer today than when I was there.

I don't find the people here pretentious at all. Probably your insecurities making you feel that way.

LOL, if you knew me at all in the real world, you would know I am very comfortable in my own skin and that idgaf about what anyone outside my family or circle of friends think about me, so my perception of the high jackass level in the DC area has nothing to do any insecurities you think I may have.

I have lived in may areas and the DC area has by far the highest percentage of pretentious jackasses of anywhere I have ever lived or have visited on a regular basis...the typical conversation whenever you meet or talk people in the DC area at party or some other social gathering almost always quickly veers into people asking each other or are bragging about where they went to college, what degree they have, what they do for a living etc. Too much of what people consider to be important in the DC area revolves around money and perceived social status. I did not find that to be the case (at least not nearly to the same extent) in other places where I lived.
