Does anyone have the ebook/pdf of Marshall and Swift? I am not actually sure they still make the pdf version, but I do not need the newest version, because I am not needing the costing as I have the physical book. I just certain information pieces to teach someone design styles and other things the book has. Would be willing to pay or work something out.

FWIW, you can download dozens of cost tables and appraisal texts and things in pdf format and for free at the California Board of Equalizations website:

http://www.boe.ca.gov/proptaxes/ahcont.htm

Look for Handbook AH531 - Residential Building Costs. Pick a year, any year. It has descriptions for classifying quality, shapes, depreciation, pictures of examples of each quality rating, manufactured housing. It is VERY similar to the M&S cost handbooks and even cites M&S as a reference.

They also have rural costs (barns, sheds, corrals, pole buildings, dairy buildings and equipment etc.

This has some very nice quality details, far better than M&S, IMHO. Perhaps UAD should consider using these guidelines instead of the vague definitions they currently have.
