Why open yourself up to accusation! BR1, BR2 etc works and its less typing.

OTOH where does it stop? Master Chef, Master Carpenter. Would this make a difference; Masterchef ? or maybe Master-Whatever

I am a Master Aviator. It takes 3,000+ hours or 15 years of Active Flying Status to get this recognition.

Do we re-write all books and publications. I guess book burning is next.

We are dealing with Confirmation bias. This is the tendency to search for, interpret, or recall information in a way that confirms one's beliefs or hypotheses.

So just change how you report bedrooms and avoid being an unintentional target of other peoples bias's.

Why did you label this thread that? Why Did you not use the PC term? I’m offended.

Also, I hope you never drove a car with a manual clutch. Cause you are part of the problem.
We are part of the problem and you are the problem :)

MBR;
The term “master” is used primarily today as a relational term that designates that a bedroom is connected internally to a private bathroom. It doesn’t necessarily designate a hierarchy of rooms, a room inhabitant, nor uniqueness within a property.

Some folks get it, others don't

When my kids were at home they referred to their bedrooms as the "slave quarters' when I made them do, what they thought, was too much work around the house.

I'm guessing that terminology is probably inappropriate for most appraisals.

I still use master BR. At one of the last CE courses I attended in person, one particularly 'woke' individual said appraisers shouldn't be using terms with 'family', too discriminatory. Residential property should be called "unit" dwellings. Single unit dwelling, two-unit, multi-unit, etc. I haven't seen that catch on or required... yet.

The attached PDF will explain and clarify why the word Master Bedroom and Master Bath are so highly offensive to the Woke and PC correct culture. This will also be a good resource and sensitivity training for those of us who are still in denial and who have not accepted our privilege. I will call them Large Suits :)

Next time I have to work on my car brakes I sincerely hope that I don't offend anyone's sensibilities when I ask the guy at the counter for a new Master Cylinder.

And I'll be sure to purge my garage of any Master Locks.

Then I'll have to dispose of my Masterbuilt smoker.

The real pain will be going thru my old elec engineering textbooks and censor them by crossing out the terms regarding Master-Slave circuits or controls.

Its going to be a busy weekend but I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run.
