Finally after decades of when appraisers avoided using the term Master, the San Francisco MLS is changing the word "Master" to "Primary". Have your MLS stopped using the word "Master"?
I admit when I wear my Realtor Hat, I still call it Master Bedroom. I hope the change will catch on for all agents.
Before in my appraisal reports, I would call it the Large Bedroom. Primary Bedroom sounds better.

Do you know how to use the forum search function?

Oh wait, of course you do, because only Fernando knows how to use multiple search functions of a website.

Or only the owner search function of the your assessor website?
Are you tryng to change the subject?

Just giving you a hard time man.

Yes. Using a different name has been discussed before. That's why I was referencing your Fernando Way of searching assessor websites lol. You are the best at finding an alternative way of searching.

Usually, I've seen it called Owner Bedroom.

Also there is this:
I got some kind of docs from client/lender. Most of the ANSI requirements, I have been following. May be early training but also common sense.
I saw one sketch double counting stairs which doesn't make sense. Also in recent sketch I saw, racist appraiser still using Master Bedroom.
If you still using Master by now, you are perceived to be racist.

And this:
Then why are we worry about calling master bedroom and master bathroom. Just call them a bedroom and bathroom and that should be sufficient.

And this:
I had hard time finding an appropriate name to replace master bedroom.
When I initially used large bedroom, it didn't sound and feel right.
After using it for long time, I got comfortable and it's normal but had issue with the bathroom.
I would call it large bedroom with bathroom. With prior comments above, I like large bedroom with private bathroom which sound better.

And this:
I had an issue what to call the master bathroom.
After reading your website, I know what to call it now - Large bedroom with private bathroom.

And this:
I read somewhere that CA has like 89% of its appraisers as White.
With such a large majority, no wonder there's still some pushback in changing certain terms like master bedroom.

And this:
I stopped calling "Master" Bedroom for decades. I call it large bedroom.

And so forth:

As an appraiser for decades, I was aware of using the word "Master Bedroom".
Realtors and Builders have used that term for a long time.
Today the SF MLS made it known that the word "Master" will be replace to "Primary".
That is significant and a first step to be politically correct after all these years.

Egg on my face!

MLS listings I see are usually still using the term. Only occasionally see it worded differently on MLS.

I receive monthly updates and newsletters from the 3 local MLS I am a member and do not recall reading this change in wording being discussed.

Sorry, I apologize Fernando.

I'm on the appraiser side.
We were more aware of being sensitive than other people in real estate.
Realtors talk the talk of not discriminating, fair housing, blah, blah, blah.
But still use the word Master which is hypocritical.
I'm surprise it took this long in progressive San Francisco.
Now we are scrutinized for being bias in our appraisals and politicians targeting us.
We made more of effort in being politically correct than Realtors.

Sorry, my apology, to The Great Fernando!

ANSI is silent on the term “master bedroom” which clearly means it is an acceptable term and shouldn’t be changed. ANSI is the law of the land.
