1/11/24 "After careful consideration and thorough evaluation of various factors, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the McKissock PAREA project. We understand that this news may be unexpected, and we want to provide you with a clear understanding of our reasoning and the steps we are taking moving forward. "

So they can’t make money off of the new blood, guess they’ll still blame the bad old appraisers for not training the next generation. AI PAREA isn’t doing much better from what I’m hearing.

The AMC's are to blame, they are just not training enough low fee, quick turn-time impostors. The PAREA effort to get around appraisers mentoring trainees to add to the profession was over once AMC's were given the green light to skim the fee and place themselves between the appraiser and the client. Very thankful I have never had to work for an AMC. Plenty of long time appraiser friends were not so lucky.

Elliott, could you link the source? I can’t seem to locate it in Google search.

Did they get a big grant from the appraisers who donated their money to TAF? Do we get any of our money back?

I’m shocked they can’t find people to come into this profession when AMCs are advertising $10 an hour work on LinkedIn.

When will the people that push this and other sorts of garbage in this profession just admit they ****ed up?

The last USPAP class I took was with McKissock. This was the Zoom class with the instructor who wanted to be a vaudeville singer.

Anyway, he solicited the class for mentors to the incoming PAREA students. Crickets....not a peep from anyone.

When PAREA became a thing I resolved to not support any of the education vendors who participated. Starting with McKissock. So if this is real and if they have changed course on it then I consider that good news. Now I'm not incentivized to boycott them.
