Can you help me answer these questions? Any links to sites or answers sent in a private message would be great!

Does the state have a trainee designation?

Does the state issue a trainee number or license?

Can a trainee sign the report for a federally related transaction?

If the trainee can’t sign the report, is the signing appraiser required to credit him / her in the report?

If the trainee can sign the report for a federally related transaction, does a supervisory appraiser have to sign with him / her? Does the supervisory appraiser have to inspect the property?

Is there a limit on the number of trainee’s a supervisory appraiser can supervise?

Who can supervise – Certified? Licensed? Etc.

Levels or categories for the state and what are the limitations.

Thanks!

Jen,

Enter -Michigan.gov, then DLEG, then Commericial Service/Corporations, lastly to Real Estate Appraisers. Should have most of your answers.

If you have any trouble just email me

Limited appraiser

Does the state issue a trainee number or license?
Yes, limited appraiser. That number will transfer later to your license or certification (or at least used to)

Can a trainee sign the report for a federally related transaction?
NOOOOOO

If the trainee can’t sign the report, is the signing appraiser required to credit him / her in the report?
Yes

If the trainee can sign the report for a federally related transaction, does a supervisory appraiser have to sign with him / her? Does the supervisory appraiser have to inspect the property?
Limited cannot sign for FRT

Is there a limit on the number of trainee’s a supervisory appraiser can supervise?
Coming soon

Who can supervise – Certified? Licensed? Etc.
Right now, licensed is okay, certified is coming soon as the only supervisor

You need to become familiar with the government website. Check

HI John, followed the instructions above, however, I cant find where the last link, Real Estate Appraisers is...what side of the page is it on? Is it in the blue?

Keep in mind that licensed appraisers can supervise you, but you cannot use that experience in your log. Secondly, you cannot sign any report that is financially related, not just federally related.

Do you have a mentor?

Thanks for the clarification on this, I appreciate it.

I'm actually not an appraiser. I work for a mortgage company and we are building a information data base regarding every states rules and regulations. I just stumbled upon this board :) I've already learned so much! :new_multi:

As an extra clarification, a limited appraiser may not sign ANY report on their own, it always has to have a supervisory signature on it.
