Mobile App needs auto-save

Gee, I wonder how we lasted all these years without such cleaver programs. Go ahead block me too. You act like the world is going to end because you don't like some feature in the software. Deal with it. You contacted them already, how can anyone else going to be of help? We cannot program it for you. You're just venting, nothing more.
How do you butcher chickens without a cleaver program?

At NO POINT did the O.P. act like "the world was going to end" they are trying to ely to people who DO use the mobile app as to what can/has happened, what happens is what happens a LOT of AF, you and other repond with a bunch of prickly comments that add NOTHING, others say to "go to your safe space pathetic" spoiler alert, a LOT of people come onto AF to vent, that's always been the case.

If appraiser want to continue to spend time using their graph paper, pen/pencil and spend extra time, then more power to you and if appraisers on AF want to respond with a bunch of a comments that add nothing, except to make themselves feel good about themselves or somehow superior, then more pwer to you as well.

As far as "You contacted them already, how can anyone else going to be of help?" Someone on AF may have had the same thing happen and knows a solution that could help without having to wait for the software company to respond. The O.P. posted to see if other who ACTUALLY uses the mobile app could possibly have a solution, instead getting replies from appraisers who have never used the mobile app to appraise, will probably never use it until forced to, but still jump at any oppurtunity to make snide remarks about the mobile app and appraisers who use it.

spend extra time and money then spend hours trying to make it work...
Fine. vent all you want. Just don't expect any sympathy. Everyone has their own methodology. You couldn't work on the same kinds of properties as I do because none of the apps are capable of being modified for super-complex properties like some of us do. And we'd be equally lost trying to replicate items important to the world of the secondary market. When I was younger, I tried to use a commercial agricultural report writer for my reports. Found out I had blown some serious money on a complex program geared to crop land appraisal, etc. Called the Uniform Agricultural Appraisal Report to this day and I think requires or supplements Clickforms ???? I am sure there are ag appraisers who love it, only do ag work and are mostly unfamiliar with agbusiness and CAFO valuation. There are no one size fits all reporting system except narrative. And most narrative reports I see are written on software add-ons in Word. And I've yet to see one that isn't a third white space because they are designed to be one size fits all. Each to their own.

First of all, I never said this "spend extra time and money then spend hours trying to make it work..." NO ONE is asking for sympathy, I don't understand where you come up with your assumptions. Of course everyone has their on methodology, some on AF are CG appraisers that don't complete residential appraisals, some use graph paper and a pencil/pen still, which is fine. The O.P. was NOT asking for sympathy, they did NOT act like it was the end of the world, like you claim, they were SIMPLY posting about a problem they were having and even stated, " I encourage you to go and vote that needs to be fixed." for others who DO use a mobile app.

For you and others to just chime in with snide remarks, just because YOU don't use a mobile app is useless really, you aren't offering anything, your condescending replies to people who have made the choice to use a mobile app in their appraisal practice are pointless. You and others could just simply say you don't care to use a mobile app or it's not for you, instead of these classics.

" Just use a pencil and paper.

"Then you shouldn't mind an occasional crash, right?" "Gee, I wonder how we lasted all these years without such cleaver programs. Go ahead block me too. You act like the world is going to end because you don't like some feature in the software. Deal with it. You contacted them already, how can anyone else going to be of help? AND the WINNER of the grand prize.

"go to your safe space pathetic"

I switched to a tablet for residential work about 5 years ago, I have several friends who are appraisers who still use graph paper, pen and a digital camera/phone, that's what they want to do, I have NEVER made ANY comments to them about them making that choice and I have also never relayed to them how much more "I" like using a tablet.

I have used the mobile app for about 6 years, very few problems. I didn't realize that the app had an auto save, I just use the save button every few minutes. I have not had time to try 3.6 yet, but 2.6 is working fine. I don't think 3.6 will go online this year, seems to be too many problems. I don't mind trying to help anyone with questions about the mobile app, I am pretty much self taught, but feel I know it pretty well. If I don't have distractions, I can be in and out of a normal 2000 sf house in 30 - 45 minutes, sketch complete, photo's arranged on the pages in order with the descriptions, page 1 of the 1004 mostly complete and if there are repairs, they are in order in the notes tab, ready to transfer to the desktop with a few clicks. In my opinion, the mobile app saves me at least an hour or two from the paper and clip board days.

Terrel been a little cranky lately. Maybe after his cataract surgery he will be able to see things more clearly
