I am a newly licensed appraiser. I received my training experience from a certified appraiser in Texas, and passed my exam in Texas. I am from Colorado and just moved back. I am transferring my license to Colorado. My intention is to work under the certified Texas appraiser's company. He is licensed only in Texas and will request business from his national clients who also do business in Colorado. I will be an independent contractor with him.

My question is: Does he need to also be licensed in Colorado to accept assignments in Colorado and assign them to me?

Is he/she the assigned appraiser? Will he/she sign the reports?

I will be the assigned appraiser for Colorado assignments. I would sign my own reports preferably, but unsure what the client's may require.

You will be good to go. I’m not how the company/CG accepts works in a state without a license.

The state has jurisdiction over the appraisers operating as such in their state. Lots of appraisers maintain multiple licenses for that reason.

to be funny, you are the state appraiser, he would be the signer on the trainee side, unless they allowed license reciprocity.

The person who is acting as an appraiser in their state is the individual the state board will want to regulate.
