My License Expires in September. How do I prevent that? I know this is a dumb question, but I've never worked for myself before.

Please Note That All Licensed Illinois Real Estate Appraisers Must Complete The 28 Hours of Continuing Education Required By 68 Ill. Adm. Code 1455.160 In Addition To The Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Required By the Illinois Civil Administrative Code (“Department of Professional Regulation Law”) At 20 ILCS 2105/2105-15.5 During Each License Renewal Period

The companies I have worked for always used to handle it. Please explain exactly what I have to do. It's hard to get information from government websites. The renewal form linked at the state website references 2019 USPAP so it can't be correct. Am I doing this too early?

Take 28 hours including USPAP, then file online? Are there any special circumstances this year because of the pandemic. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
I called the IDFPR today and spoke with a lady about this. My current license was issued on 07/04/2019 - which means that I had to receive my notification of renewal and make the payment prior to that date. She told me I needed to make a profile on the website (On their website it is under the "Professional Regulation" tab and then you scroll to Online Services Portal and follow the steps). It still would not allow me to renew my license (and I have taken all of the courses - including the sexual harassment one - which I was really disappointed with when I found out it was not a "how to commit" course). I told her that on the page where it lists what licenses are in renewal, appraisal is not even listed. She searched it and found the same thing out and said that it was odd. She told me she would have to have someone call me. I have not heard anything yet, but will update when I do.

I believe Illinois is set up on a system where everyone's license expires on Sept. 30, but you are supposed to have your CE completed by June 30 before expiration. The last time I renewed in 2019 I was sent an email that took me through the process which was basically just making a payment online and then I was sent my license. I don't know if the process has changed, I guess I will find out soon enough.

I had the same experience previously - but had correspondence with them well before now. What concerns me is that we (appraisers) are not even listed on their "Professions in renewal" tab. When I try to renew mine, I get an error stating "could not validate login attempt". I called and spoke to someone who stated that she would have someone call me.

Just check with your state (IL) regarding the requirements
I'm sure it can all be found online and to renew your license, I'm guessing, would also be available online
But as @norapp said above, I wouldn't wait until the last minute...you never know what may/may not happen
Good luck and welcome to "working for yourself" (y) :dancefool:
Beat yah by an hour . lol

I haven’t a clue when we’re supposed to have this idiot CE done in Illinois, and that’s because no one has told us. Par for the course in this God forsaken state.
