My experience is with CBRE internal systems and Narrative 1 after I started my own shop. The N1 excel and word templates are a good starting point but need customization. This should be done in pieces and make sure nothing breaks. Too many customizations and the Excel will break without a way to roll back. Save copies of prior items before doing too much.
The Narrative1 integration with the online database does the job, but entering data is terrible. It is slow, signs you out, looses info. After the data is in, the searching and auto importing to Word and Excel and integration is acceptable, but there are some quirks.
I can say that the CBRE word and excel formats work similarly to N1, but have been customized and this is your own doing. The web database was nothing spectacular, but it did work reliably.
Web databases are great, but slow, buggy and not always customizeable. They web databases are not as advanced as a MLS system, but act similarly.
