Just got back from Germany - can't hardly pass a church without wanting to go in and see the priceless fresco's, artwork, stained glass, etc. No judgement at all - just fascination - mixed with more than a trifle of the numinous.

NATO does not attack NATO. NATO is a security agreement. An individual nation can break its part of the agreement.

If an individual nation within NATO attacked another NATO nation, it would be a problem. Which is why we never see it happen—so far, at least. It's not a thing that keeps me up at night.

JGrant you answered that like you've been waiting for someone to pose that question. Allow me to rephrase it, What if one part of a security agreement attacks another part of a security agreement and the remaining parts of the security agreement are confused how to legally respond to the infraction.
