Solar is going bankrupt nationwide. Many providers have been found to have defrauded consumers in a multitude of ways. One of the more interesting was providing fake real time interface softwares which provided usage data which was not accurate. Enter the scam artists. Questionable warranties. Solar providers whom don't show up to court to defend their own products. A slue of bankruptcies. Dramatically increasing maintenance costs. International trade and value disparity concerns. Among many others.
All a consequential of government funding, rebates, and subsidies (all forms of welfare) to push something the public otherwise was not willing to pay for themselves.
Central planning never works.

Meanwhile we have had functional solar for over a century with completely 100% recyclable and repurposable components, but nobody wants to invest in something they can not patent or make absurd profits on the supply or waste recapture side. Who wants a solar system that just about anyone can design, purpose, repurpose, service, or recycle?
