Did you know that if you attend the State Board Meetings you can earn up to 2 hours of con-ed. Just a thought for those looking for cheap hours before 07/31.

No, It's what not to do when performing an appraisal?

I REALLY wanted to attend that meeting, however I have a required Iowa CE class that everyone needs to keep their Iowa license.

As for subject matter I think those folks have things that they have to discuss which hopefully includes getting rid of some very unethical appraisers.

But that said, I would love to have BPO's done (illegally) by Realtor's and MB/LO's ability to ask for Comp Checks legally when it is illegal for appraisers to honor such requests, and what can be done about these problems. This is especially important since Michigan is the #3 state for mortgage fraud and SE Michigan has a 4%+ foreclosure rate.

These issues need to be discussed, but the board may have their hands tied in what they can do to solve these problems.

There are a few Monroe County appraisers attending this meeting (they tell me).

As far as BPO's, that would be an issue to be brought before the State Board that oversee's brokers & licensed real etate sales people. They have meetings in Okemos on a quarterly basis. I know the Chair & several board members and pass along those concerns.
