I'm thinking about offering my services to teach a short class (15-30 minutes) to community groups that work with first time homebuyers. They typically have bankers, etc. come in and talk to these groups about how to keep your credit straight, how to finance, etc. I thought a 15-30 minute section on "what to expect from an appraiser and what are they doing for me and the bank" would be a good addition.

These would all be at no charge to the group(s) hosting the classes. Some banks require the borrowers to go through these classes, before they will allow them to borrow.

What you like to see added to a class of this type. All ideas are deeply appreciated.

If this pans out, I'll post the final lesson plan outline here on the forum.

Thanks

Lets see.......

1) How to eat a donut
2) How to set the alarm clock so you can get up by 10:00 AM
3) How to register on appraisers forum
4) How to take pictures without being seen......

Seriously, there should be two parts to your talk.
1) What an appraier does. A thorough description of the appraisal process.

and

2) How to get ready for an appraiser--Getting it done as soon as possible. Include such things as documentaion that will help, putting up the dogs, spraying for fleas, clearing the path to the attic stairs, etc.
