Another nutcase cabinet nomination , a person who is a wrecking ball for the very agency they are hired for. What else is new....Like billionaire Betsy DeVoss who wants to starve public schools of operating budget and subsidize private schools and crappy for profit fake colleges...or anti environment for profit energy industry shill to head the environmental "protection" agency...enjoy your contaminated water next on table is "relaxing" the clean water requirements.

The wealthy send their kids to private school, live in areas that maintain strict environmental codes, who does anyone think the weakening of these agencies will benefit? in any event, weakening or marginalizing FHA/fannie will be terrible for appraisers.

Will he be going to jail soon? Is there a limit on pardons?

VP may set an all time record. No way private interests are not involved. No way to get govt out of it. Keep dreaming.

The days of this thread are numbered like the hairs on our heads.

"The top watchdog for a federal housing regulator is under investigation for misconduct after complaints that she bowed to pressure from the agency’s powerful director, Mel Watt, to weaken her office’s oversight.

Laura Wertheimer, inspector general for the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which supervises mortgage financiers Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, also allegedly disparaged employees and attempted to intimidate witnesses, according to letters and emails obtained by POLITICO.

The alleged activity began shortly after Wertheimer joined the bureau in 2014 as an appointee of former President Barack Obama. In recent years, Watt, also an Obama appointee, has allowed Fannie and Freddie to expand their footprint in the mortgage market and experiment with new and, some say, riskier loans."

So what I hear is that people at Fannie are expecting no changes to the GSE's role in housing finance or any changes in their operations at all with a new FHFA head.

I like Calabria. Good pick for FHFA head. I think we should do away with the government guarantees.
