New Peer Group Meeting

Quarterly is optimal in my opinion

Back in the day the Flint Chapter of Society of Real Estate Appraisers met every Friday @ the Masonic Temple. We were the only weekly meeting group in the country. Of course back then in the dinosaur age we filled out fannies in pencil, gave them to the secretary to type, used white out quite a bit, polaroid pics that peeled off and left residue all over your car etc. etc.

The form was about 4-6 pages and LO's actually verified income before they made loans and foreclosures were minimal except in 73-74 and 80-82.

Good luck at the meetings. Cannot say for sure if I will have time. We are short a CG board member so my time is pretty booked up.

Hmmm I think semi-annually but I will try to attend whatever meetings you plan. I am a single mom most of the time due to hubby's truck driving career, and still have a young'un involved in sports so my time is limited for another 4 years, but I can always try . . .

Of course, I always intend to make a board meeting, and something always comes up. Can't wait till I win the lotto and can make hubby stay home lololol

I can barely do anything weekly, let alone work stuff...my wife would have my head. My vote is quarterly.

Wish it could be more often, but quarterly is more realistic. I know I would like to be able to submit a 'new and improved' report for a peer review, if anyone is receptive to that.
Is a 3 hour meeting (with 10 min break) realistic? Since we'll only meet 4 times per year, and the milage driven by many... Just a thought. :)

Quarterly gives one something to look forward to. Monthly gives someone something to worry about.

As time goes on relationships are built and that is one of the benefits of the meetings. People to call, e-mail and consult with. A quarterly meeting gives the participants something else to talk about with the people they are bonding and consulting with.

I vote quarterly, and the group will grow. Anything more and the group will die.

I also vote for quarterly.

This will give me plenty of time to heal from the beating I took from Mr. Kirksey. :icon_mrgreen: Of course I'm only kidding, the feedback was great and what I expected. Like I said at the meeting... I have more to learn than anyone here. I sincerely thank all those who critiqued my report to help make me a better appraiser. Look forward to the next meeting !!

.....the beating I took from Mr. Kirksey......

That guy is tough. I wouldn't want to meet him in a back alley!

Seriously, if you learned, and became a better appraiser from the experience it is all worth it.

That won't work, I forgot the handshake.

I'd go for every other month, and anything more then 1/4ly, you'll loose momentum and enthusiasm.:new_multi::new_multi:
