The passage of this massive housing rescue plan....creates a new regulator for Fannie/Freddie (probably the Federal Reserve?).

With a new regulator on the horizon does this terminate the HVCC?

My guess is that the fed is not going to give a damn about any agreement with an AG of a particular state.

My guess is that the GSEs and the OFHEO will get sliced and diced and repackaged into bundles that turn out to be not accountable for anything that has occurred in the past and which will be strictly under federal jurisdiction (like banks) and untouchable by the states.

It seems federal jurisdiction is crucial to plausible deniability.

I urge everyone to read the Fed's Regulation Z, including the definition of an appraiser.
This is still the calm before the storm and it gives us a brief opportunity to act. It's time to join together and go on the offensive. A lot has been accomplished in Virginia and there is much more to come in the very near future.
