Texas is not a place for people looking for a nice comfy place to live. It is a hell hole - for gunslingers, hard working, super energetic people, who are dying to burn themselves out. And Texas is a really good option for them.
Of course, for all that hard work, they may not really get anywhere in life. But no worry, it's a non-disclosure state, and most people will not figure out your real worth. It can be kept secret .... by default. There are 11 other states like that. They are the poorest, except for Utah.
