No College Degree for Cert Generals or Residential Appraisers

Interesting blog article:

"What is appraisal anymore – a profession, a trade, or something else entirely?"

How long would it take you to complete your degree online?
I lacked six hours (the thesis) for my Masters. My major professors wife left him and moved in with the head of the department. They were both on my thesis committee and barely talked to each other for 18 months. I finally starved out of grad school. I should have hired a lawyer. I had done all my research. But my prof was in a tizzy and chasing women to Texas and I was left without guidance. Such is life.

15 years later I thought I would try to finish. OU wanted $36,000 and me to attend at least 2 semesters. Tulsa U was even more expensive. I gave up.

There's a reason most (maybe all) legitimate professions aren't even having a discussion about removing their degree requirements.

Whatever the decison about college wrt cert general license, they will not suffer the overnight decimation of their business that the HVCC caused on the residential side.

But the AI ability to handle larger and larger parts of research and development will chip away at their fees, as will the shrinking demand on the res side, since a number of commercial folks did residential as well.

You know that the 4yr degree for all CRs/CGs requirement was only in place for a few years, right? What they're doing now is returning to the "some college" criteria of the 2008 version.

You could say they tried it and ended up going back.

How many professions do you know that don't require a college degree?

This should get interesting. Thanks TAF. For nothing.
you know i like you. You are probably one my favorites.

It is hard to get on my favorite list.
